Casa
Alegria (House of Joy) - is a traditional country house located
in the Spanish region of Valencia. This typical country house was built
of stone two centuries ago.
During its
renovation, care was taken to preserve the original ceiling beams, portions
of the walls, and the fireplace. The house is located about ten minutes
on foot from the center of the village, where there are many shops, bars
and restaurants. The square in front of the town hall hosts the town's weekly
market where the local farmers sell their produce and fishermen sell their
sea food.
There are various fiestas at the weekends. The biggest party is the fiesta
of the "Moros i Christianos". Additionally, there are shows of
regional dance, culinary festivals, the Lyrical Week of music, and many
other events.
The
grounds of the house were once a citrus plantation, and oranges, lemons, and
nisperos are still grown here to meet the needs of guests. The garden comprises
several terraces, and the house is poised on the highest of them. A beautiful
view of the mountains unfolds in front of it. Immediately adjacent to the house
is the summer dining room.
Sitting
in the shade of the nisperos and lemon trees, the vast table and chairs beckon
diners to relax in the fresh air, surrounded by Nature's beauty, and tempting
fresh fruits.
Casa
Alegria is a former country house that has been fully restored and
renovated. The spacious kitchen and indoor dining room, the living room with
the original fireplace, a recreation area, and access to the covered terrace
are all situated on the ground floor.
Four bedrooms and the bathroom are located on the first floor. The first bedroom,
"Limon", is furnished with twin beds and is ideal for children with
its decorations of children's paintings. The second bedroom, "Cereza",
has a comfortable double bed and a small space perfect for working.
The
third bedroom, "Manzana", is also a double with exposed walls of the
original stone construction. There is access to the upper terrace from this
room with a commanding view of the mountains, the sea and the surrounding countryside.
This is the perfect spot to soak up the late afternoon sun while enjoying a
glass of wine from the local bodega. The fourth bedroom, "Naranja"
is a single (private use) .
