CALLOSA D'EN SARRIA is a small village near the seaside town of Altea (about 8 km). Callosa d'en Sarria earned its fame as the foremost grower in Spain of the fruit nisperos, considered to be a delicacy. The cultivation of nisperos in this region is possible thanks to the natural water springs of the Fonds d'Algar and to the special microclimate. The fruit is harvested in late April and early May.
The waterfalls at the Fonds d'Algar Park are also worth a visit. Visitors are treated to gorgeous natural waterfalls, spring waters and botanical cactus gardens. Spend a wonderful day at the park where restaurants offer dining, and the brave can take a swim in the spring waters.

ALTEA - a former Moorish village, is picturesquely situated on a small hill about 60 km north of the city Alicante.

GUADALEST
- this town deserves it title of the "most popular attraction" in the region of Valencia. Guadalest was a small seventeenth century Moorish village with an Arab hilltop castle, which would later become a Spanish castle

BENIDORM - this town is about 95 km from Torrevieja. Full of multi-storied buildings, it recalls Las Vegas. Coincidentally, this town plays host to the largest theme parks on the Spanish Riviera.

ALICANTE - the region's second city after Valencia, Alicante draws millions of tourists annually. The town's principle fiesta, Las Hogueras, is at the end of June and is nearly as lively as Valencia's Las Fallas fiesta.

DENIA
- this picturesque port town, the departure point of ferries to the Balearic Islands, Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, is well worth a visit.

ISLA DE TABARCA (an island near Torrevieja) - this tiny island lies between Santa Pola and Torrevieja just fifteen kilometers offshore. The island and its surrounding waters are a marine protected zone where species not seen elsewhere can be spotted, including coral, fish, crabs and other marine fauna.

LA TOMATINA (The Tomato Fight) - La Tomatina is the world-famous tomato fight held annually in the small, southern town of Bunol. It's every bit as wild and crazed as a traditional Spanish fiesta. Imagine thirty thousand people descending on a small, provincial village just to throw 120 tons of tomatoes supplied by the local government.

LO PAGAN MUD BATHS - these mud baths have been known for their healing properties since antiquity. All this is just a few kilometers from Torrevieja, and, most importantly, it's free!
